Title
[D8950AAF], Letter from Walter Seeley Mallory to Thomas Alva Edison, March 7th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"Enclosed please find statement of "Receipts and Expenditures." I regret having to make such a statement as to cost - but did my best to keep it down - we are now shipping sample lots to the various mills and will soon know how saleable our product is going to be - until then we do not want to invest any more money: we however owe about $750 - and will owe $500 rent on April 1st so have decided to call an assessment of 1% - to cover all bills - and then if are satisfied as to results - can [-------] capacity as proposed: and call for additional money: - the mill seems to be running nicely now - We are called for assessment on Trustees as have not yet received incorporation papers: Trusting that the accident reported in the paper was not so serious as reported."
