Editor's Notes

Yours of the 6th ult received two days ago and has remained unanswered because other parties had an option wich expires today. The mine you reer to belongs to me. The deposit is very large, to all appearance unlimited. There have been several assays made showing 50% [thermic?] iron. The analysis in such instance has been made by chemists of acknowledge ability. The mine lies about five miles from this point & within about three miles of line of rail road new located and in wich work is under constuct and progressing at this time. Now on ten to fifteen tons of ore out now of the mine. I would not care to name a price per ton at this time; the mine however is in themarket and open to inspection. Should you desire to purchase you will want to examine the property and at that time I will give the figures at which I wil sell. I neglected your letter it should have received an earlier answer and would only for negotiations I was carrying on with other parties.
