- Editor's Notes
- Dear Mr. Edison: I had not difficulty in getting the Phonograph to work as well as it can work with a broken diaphragm. Two or three days since, I asked you by telephone to send me 6 diaphragms and some rubber rings. These have not been received as yet.##I have attached a revolving mirror to the machine and have used the diaphragm cell as a manometric capsule. I get Koenig's flames nicely. I am trying an experiment to determine the personal equation by means of the phonograph. I believe there is a great deal in the phonograph as a scientific instrument.##Could you prepare a few cylinders with certain cords nd scales? If so, I will send the manuscript music.##Please send diaphragms and rings as soon as convenient. Repectfully, Geo M. Hopkins.
