Smith writes a letter to Tate requesting more batteries and letting him know that they run down quickly after it's only been running the machine for about 5 minutes, and if the machine stops it won't start again without assistance. And he asks would 8 cells be sufficient for Phonoplex. He also request that the batteries be personaly sent to him.
