Title

[D8958ABE], Letter from Gesellschaft Urania, Max Wilhelm Meyer to Thomas Alva Edison, December 21st, 1889

Editor's Notes

Thanks for the excellent specimens of your wonderful new phonograph as well as the rich collection of musical and other rolls and furniture.###Your gift has become one of the most attractive and interesting objects of the establishment and many thousands of visitors are astonished by it.###When our society was formed we wrote the name of Edison on our shield as an inspiring element.###Our statutes say we are to spread scientific knowledge to lay people, especially because so many great men of inventive genius--Herrsshel, Wessel, Faraday, TAE--come from that quarter (are not university-trained)###Advise us on how your phonographs are sold.###We have inquiries on this subject everyday from all parts of Germany. We effect the sale of all instruments exhibited in our establishment.
