- Editor's Notes
- "I beg to thank you for your letter of date 19th April, returning me Power of Attorney duly signed and legalised, for use in India, which I am now forwarding to my Agents in Calcutta. ### Since I wrote you last on this subject I have received a letter from them of date 9th April, 1889. a copy of which I enclose you; from which you will see that the Agents are of opinion, notwithstanding the Power of Attorney you signed in their favor, that you should sign the documents forwarded herewith, as the wording of the documents take the form of an oath. As you are aware a new Act has been passed in India relating to Patents, and these documents come under the new regime. ### You will notice what the Agents say with regard to the sealing of English Patents. Now, two Cases have been actually sealed in England, ([....]) - CASES 85 & 85; the remaining being at present pending. In these circumstances you will have to initial the first page of CASES 86, 87, & 88, as shown in pencil, which kindly do and forward to me at once so that the matter may be attended to without any further delay."
