- "I have several proposals for South America which are under consideration and therefore am not free at the moment to make any proposals to fresh parties, but would, of course, consider any proposal from them to me. You had better so cable them and instructing them to appoint someone to negotiate personally here which they can easily do and if they mean business will do. I have two or three negotiations on here with parties who have acted upon a similar suggestion. The difficulties are great enough in dealing face to face. ### I shall close up several things in a very short time after having your reply as to prices and possible quantities ."
