“This will be handed you by Mr. Wailer Miller, who processes to Washington tonight to the service of Mr. Thos. A. Edison of Orange N. J., the inventor of the Edison Perfected Phonograph. Mr. Miller will take pleasure in showing you the working of the Phonograph and I shall be greatly obliged if you will assist him by allowing him to take down upon the Phonograph some short message of your own to certain officials in China. A special letter which I have forwarded to you today by mail will further explain in regard to the Phonograph.### Thanking you for any courtasies shown to Mr. Miller on Mr. Edison’s behalf,"
