Title
[D8964ACV], Letter from Benjamin F Stevens to Alfred Ord Tate, October 20th, 1889
Editor's Notes
Dear Mr Tate I have been waiting until I could write you in the same certainty as to my being in New York as asked in your favor. I shall have to make a Western tour probably about Nov 10. Southern weeks hence & shall take in New York on my way when I shall be more happy to see you. If you propose being here on Wednesday at the Directos meetin of the Toy Doll Co we can perhaps talk over matters. Several large stockholders have spoken to me about taking the Presidency. I certainly do not seek the position. I have just as mich as I can reasonably do during business hours and I could not take the Company's time (I mean my Company) for any outside matters. I now have my office on my private affairs durig office hours. Anything I can do therefor must be done after 2 o'clock. I hope Mr Edison & you are recuperating etc. & enjoying the fruits of the trip. Kindly remember me to Mr. E. Truly BemjF Stevens
