Title

[D8966ABY2], Letter from Sherburne Blake Eaton to Thomas Alva Edison, July 12th, 1889

Editor's Notes

#Re License to the Baltimore & Ohio R.R. Co. under your Phonoplex patents. I beg to return herewith all the papers heretofore received from Mr. Tate, including my letter to him of June 12, 1889. I note that Mr. Tate has prepared duplicate new agreements and has had them carefully typewritten, pursuant with the suggestions made in my said letter. Mr. Tate asks if the papers which he has thus prepared are in proper shape for you to sign. In reply I beg to say that they are. I accordingly suggest that you sign the two documents which I have marked on the back with red lead pencil A1 and A2, and that you will then have them sent to the B. & O. R.R. Co. to be executed by that company, one copy of the two papers which you thus signed to be retained by that Company, and the other copy to be sent back to you for your files, after being signed by the B. & O. R.R. Co. I further suggest that you fill in the date at the top of the first page of the said two duplicate agreements, when you sign them.####As regards the other one copy which I have marked on the back in lead pencil B1, it is of no further use.####Hoping this will be satisfactory, I remain.####Very truly yours,####S.B. Eaton.####P.S. As I will be out when this letter is typewritten, please accept my printed signature.####[name mentions: Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Co, A.O. Tate, Thos Edison, S.B. Eaton]
