Tate Esq####Dear Sir####With reference to Mr Schieble's letter, I beg to say that Mr Eickemeyer's apparatus is a magneto electric induction apparatus while Mr Edison's is a purely magnetic arrangement. Also that so far as I can discover Mr Edison's bridge appeared in this electrical journals before any publication of Mr Eickenmeyer apparatus took place.####Mr Edison has taken out a patent for the application of his magnetic bridge to this detection of flaws in iron and has done some work in that direction for dynamos and motors.
