Dear Edison: I find those drugs & their formula in Wood, Remington and Sadtlers U.D.S. 1888--Lippincott ##Appendix Page 1694 it gives##Antifebrin (Acitanilid) Cs. H9 N.O.. or C6. H5. NH (C2 H3 O)--the name is non-scientific and must come from the Latin anti (against) febris (fever)--on page 1711 it gives##Antipyrin as the Hydrochloride of Dimethyloxy quinizin, Cn H12 N2 O this must derive its name from the Greek words Anti (against) and pu(y)retos (Aire, or heat, or fever.
