[D8970AAV], Letter from T H McAllister to Thomas Alva Edison, February 23rd, 1889
Editor's Notes
New York Feb 23 1889####Thos A. Edison Esq####Orange N.J.####Dear Sir####In reply to yours of 21st inst. would say as regards your claim of shortage of one view on bill of January 14th such claim ought to have been made to us -- immediately on receipt of goods -- and not wait over one month before notifying us = As is our custom all goods sent you were ounted twice - and from this = change was made -- but as it is a small matter we enclose credit for 37 [cents?] -- as requested,=####As regards the views sent you - we would reiterate our statement, as in our letter of 19th inst - that goods were not sent you on selection - and as there seems to be no immediate prospect of your examining the views - and arriving at a settlement -- we would request that you return the views to us immediately -- and as an accomodation we will give you credit for same --####It is hardly reasonable to expect we should quote our lowest price on views -- and then send them out on selection -- where they are to wait an indefinite period for deccision --####Yours very truly####J.H. McAllister####[name mentions; T.H McAllister, Thos Edison]
