[enclosure; transcript of D8842AAQ] "Your letter of Dec 13th is received, regarding the arrangement with Mr. Edison for the Paris Exposition. ## The arrangement is that the Edison Machine Works, Mr. Edison, and the Lamp Co., each pay one third (1/3) of the expense fo the Exposition, including Mr. Hammer's salary. ## Mr. Edison upon his behalf undertook to pay all of the expense of fitting up the Quadruplex and his various invetnions, outside of the Electric Light, so far as the expense of doing so in the Laboratory was concerned. ## The general expense to be divided into thirds for the Exposition. ## You should notify Col. Gouraud regarding the plan of the Exposition, and of the fact that the Phonograph is going to be exhibted in the space under control of Mr. Edison."
