April 10/92 Mr. Thos. A. Edison Orange N.J. Dear Mr. Edison: I have been for some time past Special Agent of the Edison Company. I do not know whether my arrangements with the company would be combined or not but I desire to say to you if I can make any arrangement with you or any of your interest + I would prefer to leave this company as I am not particularly [illegible]] with this consolidation. I believe I am capable of being of service to you and having been for years an Edison man from the ground up it is likely my sympathy will add to my zeal. Can you make room for me in the phonograph business? I have put some pretty good work in that lime + am of the opinion that if the business can be made success in a slow town like Washington it can be made to go elsewhere with good [illegible] Graphophone has never recovered from the [illegible],manipulation of 2 years ago. I am anxious to have a talk with you + see you anywhere you may. Yours very truly, F.Z. Maguire
