Oct. 4, 1892. A. B. Dick, Esq., 152- 154 Lake Street, Chicago, Illinois. Dear Sir:- Mr. Edison duly received your letter of 10th ultimo, and has asked me to say in reply that it is evident from its tone that you are not anxious to go into the phonograph business. He does not believe that he could make a proposition which would be satisfactory to you, and we will therefore let the matter drop. Yours very truly, Private Secretary.
