Oct. 22, 1892. Prof. R. H. Thurston, Sibley College, Cornell University, Ithaca, N. Y. Dear Sir:- Mr. Edison has asked me to acknowledge the receipt of your kind letter to him of 17th instant. He is obliged for your invitation to visit Cornell, and would like to accept it, but unfortunately it is impractical for him to do so. He is still at the grindstone, hoping to get a rent soon. Should that hope be realized he will certainly try and arrange a visit to Cornell. Yours truly, Private Secretary.
