Dec. 9, 1892. J. W. Gladstone, Esq., Edison Manufacturing Company, New York City. Dear Sir:- I have received your letter of 8tyh instant, enclosing a communication under date 7th instant received by you from Walter Miller. I agree with you that the remarks made by Mr. Miller were entirely unnecessary, but at the same the proper thing for you to do is to ignore them, and in future do your business with the factory through Miller, who has been placed in charge, and who is entitled to that measure of respect. If you had brought the matter before him in the first place, he could have raised no objection whatever to your making any necessary explanations to Miggins. It is simply a question of method. I enclose copy of a letter which I have addressed to Mr. Miller on this subject. Yours truly,
