Thos A. Edison Esq Orange N.J.
Dear Sir,
I beg to enclose herewith a letter of introduction from Mr. Coates and two pamphlets and would ask you to designate a time where I could meet you.
Dr. Mehrer the author of the articles + patentee therein referred to is as present in Europe and during his absence abroad has left his matters in my charge.
The principle involved in his invitation discloses startling possibilities. The inventors honorable position are Germany can be shown to your entire satisfaction and the interest taken in his claims both here and abroad, warrant a man, even as busy as you are, to look into the matter.
Hoping to hear from you at an early day I am
Very respectfully
