The Edison Electric Illuminating Co. of New York
General Offices, Pearl, cor. Elm St.
15 November, 1892.
Thos. A. Edison, Esq.,
Laboratory.
Orange, New Jersey.
My dear Mr. Edison:
We are expecting to give up the old Pearl street station in the Spring, and had then intended to offer you the historic “Jumbo” for exhibition at Chicago. I am very glad to hear that you will be willing to receive it. If you like, we can lend you the [illegible word] of the old Pearl street Station about that time - bricks and all.
I presume you will also exhibit at Chicago that Lamp which you now have reason to conclude you actually did invent. Do you think Mr. Westinghouse’s new lamp will live long enough for it to get to Chicago?
I hope the Ogden baby is becoming convalescent; you must not forget that you promised when that stage was reached to take a look in here and see the very grown up units we have working downstairs.
Very truly yours,
R.R. Bowker
