Letterhead: Edison Phonograph
G.F. Clarke, District Agent.
Hamilton, Ont., 16th March 1892
Thos A. Edison Esq
Dear Sir:
If you will permit me to worry you once more I would be more than grateful if you could have a steel ring three or four inches in diameter and as heavy as possible, magnetized without poles and sent to my address. I wish to experiment with it. The Kay Electric here tried it for me but the poles were there as in an ordinary magnet.
I am reluctant to trouble you but do not know how to magnetize a ring this way and never heard of it being done.
Yours truly,
Geo F. Clarke
P.S. If the vibrations from the under side of the Phonograph diaphragm were confined and let out with those from upper side would the songs not be more audible for [illegible] purposes
