Thomas A. Edison Esq

A special request has been asked of me by a Committee from Leipzig Germany to furnish them a contribution to a presentation volume to be given to Prof Theirch who is celebrating his 70th year + 25th year of the ascension to the special chair in Surgery of the Leipzig University. They authorized that I could write an article on the Phonograph and its Relation to Medicine. I consented to do this and already the manuscript is ready to go by the next streamer as the celebration will take place at the end of April.
I wish to ask you, if I could have several first class photographs of the phonograph or electrotypes or drawings for illustrating the [illegible]. I should like to have another good that's of yourself for the same purpose. Also anything new connected with the machine. The manuscript give the port history of the phonograph.
Helping to get an immediate answer on account of the late hour for reaching the other side + its publication.
I have the honors to
Remain yours resp
Dr. Julius M. Bleyer
