Letterhead of Bircham & Co. 50 Old Broad Street. London. E. C. 24th Decr. 1892 Dear Sir [illegible text] Smith & Gouraud In accordance with your instructions we have settled this action on the terms mentioned in the copy receipt herewith from which you will see that the litigation is at an end. We have undertaken on behalf of the Edison Company that no proceedings will be taken by them in respect of any costs due from [in?] [illegible text] Smith to them. We also enclose our own receipt for the cheque which you handed to us for the purpose of settling this matter. We will have an account of our changes made out and delivered as soon as practicable Yours faithfully Bircham & Co. Currer[?] Smith v Gouraud + others Received of the defendants by payment of Messr Bircham the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds in full satisfaction and discharge of all claims in this action and in respect of the subject matter thereof whether against the Defendants of Edison United Phonograph Company its Directors and Office Estate and Effects, and upon the undertaking of Edison United Phonograph Company not to enforce against the Plaintiff the Judgement for costs obtained in the action 1892 S.
