Marginalia: D 1892 Telegraph
Mr. Thomas A. Edison,
Orange, New Jersey.
Dear Sir:-
Referring to the interview, of Doctor Dudley Mr. W. N. Bannard, and myself some days ago; would say that the committee of officers of this company, held a meeting in Philadelphia, on the 6th. Inst., at which time your suggestions of making a test of a cable, of about the conditions which we would have, in working a cable between, Jersey City, and Philadelphia, was favorable considered, and the committee on cables was requested to proceed at once, and have such tests made under your direction. I have been detailed to arrange the matter with you at the earliest possible moment; I would be glad if you will name an early state, for me to call upon you, to arrange the matter; we have promised a report upon this subject within two weeks. It has been suggested, that in case you would have no serious objections, that it would be well for me to be present during the progress of your tests, so that in addition to the report which you might make, that someone would be more or less familiar with the subject, so that if any questions arise in discussing the subject, with the committee, I might be able to answer them, aside from this, it would gratify a personal desire on my part. Please answer soon to be oblige.
Very truly yours,
[Signed Taylor, William. F]
