Title

[FI001ABT], Letter from Mary Valinda (Mrs Lewis) Miller to Mina Miller (Mrs Thomas A.) Edison, Thomas Alva Edison, January 7th, 1888

Editor's Notes

15-8066. What is the matter that I have not had one letter from my dear ones and that I [so?] don't a time ago had such a nice time [?] will did you both get so tired of me that you do not want to write any more to me. I would love so much to have one more letter any way. I know I bothered you so much, when with you and so many of us there so it makes a grate deal of work and takes a good while to get in order after they leave, I have thought of you day and night and have wished I could hear from you, I do hope you and all are well, I expect you miss the school girles as they were the last to leave, I hope both are well and pleased with their school, I have had only one short letter from Mame since I left her. We are all well and we have a plenty of mud and rain [to?] yesterday it was so foggy we could hardly get around, we had a few Ladys in for Lunch and it was so dark, with fog they could hardly see anything or see how to get home, it is a little clearer but yet there is fog and mud yet. The little boys have [a nother?] in there [Lundo?] a boat a newly [named? Received?] [candle ? Couple?], you will read it in the paper so I just say that our folkes were over to Hotel to see the [last?] broken man with his bride [safe? Dead?] on the [cares? Eares?} [your? Door?] man he had to go all the rest of the way alone. [Jenine?] and [Cora? Dora? Lora?] say she looked so nice they dressed her in one of her Wedding dresses, it seems sad to think of it. We were having a nice time hear while [they?] were in deep [sorry?] and very near us so that is the way this life is one part, however but little of the other part. Well I will not write any ones of this now but will close by asking you to believe [that?] when I say I love you and think of you all the time and love to hear from you just as soon as convenient, please expect my love and best wishes? [Mrs. Ottaner?] was just hear and she [said?] such a blue letter she had just received from [Hellen?], she said she would never stay at the [college? Cottage?] a [gai]. Well goodby, love to you and all from Mother
