The transcriber is unfamiliar with the idiosyncracies of Mary Valinda's letter writing and is transcribing the words as they appear physically on the page rather in the order that Mary V. wrote them.]*** thought it would never seem like home again. We are having such muddy weather wew had to have the gass lighted in the church this morning for it was so dark we could not even see hardly anything. We liked our new minister very much, this morning we all think he will do well hear, they enjoyed meeting the James very much the other day. ## Mr. Edison could come and attend comencement. I think it would please dear Grace so much and I do think it would do you good to come home a little while and get a little rest. Have you some one a sewing for you now and do you like her, does she seem to understand what you want and need. I do hope you have someone that can tet everything all night. I do feel ashamed of myself, I did so little if anything but make truble and work. This house begines to seem a little more like home is and seem so strong to me at first & have you heard from the College girles yet. I hope both are well, please give both my love and best wishes, when you write to them, well as I think I will write a few lines to [Marion?]. I will close yours now wishing you all the good luck this little world can give you and yours, please give my love and good wishes to Thomas and William, tell them I think of them very often. My dear [allivace?] and Mr. Edison [I a and come a little?] {Margret and the rest of us are well and hope all are with you?]. I fear you will think I am over doing the writing matter, you will think I had been wait until I am [sure?] you would like me to write to you, but I am going on the old likes, I am doing as I have been asked to do as a agrate many times in past times. ## I want to thank you to for the truble and kindness of sending that box and so many nice thinges in it, we have the [corne?] and with those colered papers mixed in with it dangling before the glass and it looks very pretty all [awins?] it all since we must have had a very pretty [tree?] how did you like what [Robie?] and James sent you and also what the y sent us, we like ours very much. I think James must have worked rather [stray?] and it must be hard on the eyes, we received the boxes yesterday, the boys like their books very much. I do hope we will get a letter very soone telling us whether you received the money and the book and also telling us almost every thing at your dear home. I feel very anxious to hear from you, we have had only a very short letter from Mamie, since I have arrived home I have to hear some new and hear good newes. I hope you and all are well and happy, every thing in good order now as I trust [Leannie? Jeannie?] is at home with you and feeles well and rested and ready for work. Please [remember?] to her and all the others, they are pretty good girles, I do hope you can help them try and keep [Anna?] for it is very hard to get good washers and [monies? Menders? Servants?] dear Mina what was that party called that you and Mr. Edison went to so near at your home. I have tried to find it in the dictionary but it seems as though I cannot get it right. Please tell me so I can find it and know what it is. I wish dear Mina you and
