[Staley?] Jeremiah [Loaring?] [Notarized, on the next page, by John S McClure in Chicago] The next page is an attachment to Isaac Pearson, the secretary of state of Illinois, in which commissioners duly authorize to open books of subscription for the Edison Iron concentrating Company, pursuant to license issued 7th of January 1889, reporting that the said stock was fully subscribed. Subscribers agree to pay $10,000 per share of stock and list their names, shares, and dollar amounts below: Thomas A. Edison 200 $ 2,000,000 Lewis Miller 200 2,000,000 Ira M. Miller 200 2,000,000 E.B Mallory 175 1,750,000 W.S Mallory 175 1,750,000 [Next page, continued] That on the Second day of March, A.D 1882 at the office of Jeremiah Learing at the City of chicago at the time of 10 o'clock am, they convened a meeting of subscribers aforesaid pursuant to notice required by law, which said notice was deposited in the post office, properly addressed to each subscriber, ten days before the time fixed therein, a copy of which said notice is as follows, to-wit: To_______ You are hereby notified that the Capital Stock of The Edison Iron Concentrating Company has been fully subscribed, and that a meeting of the subscribers of such stock will be held at the office of Jeremiah Learing 192 Dearborn Street Chicago on the 2nd of March 1889 at 10 o clock am for the purpose of electing a Board of Directors for said Company and for the transaction of such other business as may be deemed necessary signed, Jeremiah Learing Justin B. Staley Walter S. Mallory Commissioners That the said subscribers met at the time and place in said notice specified, and proceeded to elect Directors, and that the following persons were duly elected for the term of One year, viz: Thomas A.
