- Title
- [LB003475], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Lemuel Wright Serrell, November 4th, 1878
- Editor's Notes
- is enclosed a fraud from Messrs west & Bond solicitors in Chicago? Please examine and ascertain if this apparatus was used for puncturing utensils for duplicating purposes. I think apparatus was made soon after mine was bought out and was only an attempt to make another device which would not infringe on my patent. Please inform me if a person had made this machine and used it ten years and not offered it for sale or brought it into public use would it stop or invalidate another person's patent for this thing who had introduced it into public use?
