- Will you kindly ask your correspondents on the West Coast of South America to send a sample of the different varieties of dry bamboo growing in their vicinity. The samples should be about 3 inches long and an inch and a half to 2 inches in diameter. It grows in nearly every country in South America and also quite extensively in the Islands of the Pacific.
