- Editor's Notes
- Your kind favor of yest'y is just at hand. The samples you refer to were duly received, but they are so green that it is difficult to say wehther they will be suitable for our purpose. The gentleman who I propose sending is a first rate botanist and has been all through South America. He will not only search for the proper kinds of bamboo but will also collect samples of all other classes of fibres which may be of use. I have to thank you for the aid you have already given me and for the tender of further assistance if necessary.
