- The iron of the armature will weigh 2300 pounds and upoin its face will be 270 lbs. of copper. The copper discs which go upon the sleeve at each end of the armature will weigh approximately 400 lbs. each. There are two of them and they are of a uniform density from a diameter of 8 inches out to a diameter of 22 inches. The sketch [shown] will show the disposition of material in the armature.
