Editor's Notes
Your favor of the 4th ult was duly rec'd. On my electric light system the design is to establish stations in cities & towns and supply the light one half mile in every direction from the Central Station. This distance is the limit so far as economy is concerned. When the conductors are carried beyond half a mile they must be increased in size and this renders it expensive, but when the motive power is water, and the expense is nominal I see no reason why conductors of 4 or 5 miles in lenght cannot be used.
