Editor's Notes
Your memo Saturday & also of monday to hand this ult.##The reason gas is so cheap at Rochester is that there is a bitter fight between two gas companies.##As to Mr Osbourne passing on our wiring tell greenfield to select thirty prominent places including Drexel Morgan & Co Winslow Lenard Co & Ansonia Brass & Copper Co.##I agree with you that it is a great pity that Bailey should have to engage in "[feel crunch"] business at [Braun.##I have been much amazed at the accounts of Paget [Higgs]##You can state in the Bulletin that there are no [---] whatever connected with the business which are not known to the proper officials of the Co.##A Bill has been rendered to Mr Geo M. Hopkins of the Scientific American for 6 special small lamps & Hopkins has written me asking me if it is correct. I have replied that it is an error & that the lamps were presented to him by the Edison Electric Light Co. Please have bill withdrawn as Hopkins does us good service.##I enclose Bill of Mr Richd M Dyer for $150 amount paid by me to him for Patents purposes for the Light Co since he left wilber. Please have a check sent me for the amount at your convenience.##I notice in the extract [of] [edn] Defect Book that complaint is again & again made of obsolete articles which are not now manufactured but nothing has been said about such Defects however because [electrified] [by] improved manufacture I refer especially to [remarks] under [---] of June 9th as to Switches. This is a reflection on the manufacturer who does not now make these ineffective Switches & surely [Vail] at the time of recording the complaint should also record the fact that in new installations such trouble cannot occur
