Editor's Notes
The Drain running through the property of the Dutchman [suing] me was made years back by the Menlo Park [Association]. So far as I can find out just now the drawings fro my corse was connected with it about six years ago. Since then it has been an open drain unti the time when my father-in-law put the fence up, when the piping was laid down in order to abate a nuisance. The same remarks apply to this last act as to the [---] i.e. It was put down while I was in [Florida] without my orders or knowledge & by Mr [Siemens] who had no power to act for me.##Please make up [---] answer to the complant you can & if afterwards you want to tel anyone about the matter my Secretary Mr Insull
