Title
[LB008230], Letter from Francis Jehl to Francis Robbins Upton, May 5th, 1881
Editor's Notes
Can Dr. Haid bring out the bamboos at a definite resistance: for instance, can he make them 3[3] ohms or within one ohm or so of that point and can he tell before hand what they are going to do. I think myself that the paper is no good for their purpose. I think you should make bamboos slightly [thin ----] or so resistance and increase the economy to ten lamps per horse power of the current##The [Goerck] St Lamps have been running now 284 hours and not one lamp has [broken] The lamps here have been burning 150 hours and not one broken and the globes are but slightly tinted##I understand that Jehl has some coils standarized and I would suggest that Dr Nichols should take two of Bergmanns with players & go up to the Laboratory and standardize them [---]
