Title
[LB014318], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Sherburne Blake Eaton, October 23rd, 1882
Editor's Notes
Referring to memo of 20th with enclosed letter attached the test was made with the same Dynamo we use in our Central Station business which differs from the machine we supply to the Isolated Co. Refer to Young & Brackett test which was made with the same kind of machine as used by the Isolated Coy the efficiency of which is the same as the Bar machine. The special point in this test is the commercial efficiency Many machines can show a scientific efficiency of eight per cent but have not more than 50% Commercial efficiency It is this Commmercial efficiency which makes our machines so economical and we stand alone in this particular##Where you can find Young & Bracketts test I do not know but I fancy in an old no of the Scientific American or in one of Van Nostrands publications
