Title
[LB014413], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Love Baker, November 10th, 1882
Editor's Notes
Referring to yours of 7th inst. The boat referred to was propelled by [maine]of current derived from [Sillivan-Volkmar] Accumulators which has undoubtedly been charged with dynamic electricity rather than with galvanic electricity or galvanism.##It would be impractical, but it might be possible to propell a boat at the speed you suggest, with batteries carried on board, but that is a problem that would require a considerable amount of carful calculation to answer positively and still more calculations to estimate the cost etc.
