Title

[LB016165], Letter from Samuel Insull to George S Ladd, April 18th, 1883

Editor's Notes

Your favors of the 31st. March and 10th. April came duly to hand. If you object to the percentages which I named in my previous letters to you with reference to the Hawaiian Islands, Mr. Edison will be quite willing to reduce the amount named. Will you please let us have your views on the matter stating what the business would stand.##With reference to isolated plants I think we could get the dynamos, lamps and sundries at exactly the same price as the Isolated Company here pay for them. Do you think that we could charge any higher price in Honolulu than is charged here for isolated plants and if so what advance would be practicable.##We are now preparing estimates for the erection of village plants giving the exact figures at which Mr. Edison will undertake to put the plants in. We have now two towns here that we expect to close contracts with within a few days, and as soon as we have done so I will send you copies of the estimates, and our ideas of what profit can be made in the business. I can certainly send them within a week.
