Editor's Notes

Your favor of May 16th enclosing copy of letter from Mr W C. Witter, dated Jany 22nd/84, was duly received.##The letter refers to an interference now pending in the patent office between Swan and myself, in which testimony is now being taken.##I presume Mr. Witter desired you to testify in the hope that you would contradict the evidence of myself, Batchelor, Upton, Kreusi, Force and others in regard to certain experiments performed by me at Menlo Park.##I am much obliged for your kind wishes and trust to see you when you come to New York
