- Your favor of the 19th inst. unfortunately escaped my notice. In reply I would state that you would have to make the tube from two and one half to three inches in diameter to get rid of friction. If the tube is much smaller you will not be able to hear anything, but if you lay a large tube I do not see why you should have trouble.
