Title
[LB018186], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Edison Electric Illuminating Co (Bellefonte), James Harris, July 28th, 1884
Editor's Notes
[Illegible] as to my [--ring] my balance in [illegible]a reply [illegible] that I have such a large capital invested in stocks of the valuable Edison Companies, and also in the [------fice] that produce their material, and furthermore I require [----] a large floating capital to carry on my business, that it would be quite impossible for us to take the stock in your Bellefonte Company. I should be most happy to do so were it not for the above reasons, as I consider that the stocks in all the local illuminating companies in connection with the Edison System to be an extremely good investment, and should take advantage of same had I any large amount of superfluous capital to invest.
