- I have your favor of the 14th. inst., and shall hope to receive from you shortly the proposition you refer to with relation to Indian & Colonial affairs. Immediately it arrives here I will get Mr. Edison to get on it.##I have also yours of the 8th. inst., with relation to Oriental proxies. I do not think I can get any more American proxies. I have tried, but so far have been unsuccessful, and I am glad that what you have got will be enough to prevent any trouble. If you will write me, at your convenience, as to the state of the Oriental business I shall be glad, as I have had various inquiries concerning same.
