- Editor's Notes
- Reverting to your letter of July 31st, and more particularly to that portion of it which relates to an invoice of certain goods billed back on us, and in regard to which you stte the following:-##"This material was ordered by your men, without having any actual use for itxxxxhence we shipped you yesterday.... this material of which we enclose herewith a bill charging it back to you at precisely the same figures that you billed it to us in the first place. This material amounts to $467.28"##we have carefully searched our records to find the copies of original invoices rendered you for the articles specified in the said bill, but have been unsuccessful in tracing any portion of it excepting red paragon cable, small copper wire and large copper wire, together with one hundred temporary fixtures, instead of 144 as shewn on the face of your invoice.##As you state you have returned the material to us at precisely the same figures as we billed it to you, we infer that you employed our invoices to re-bill the goods, and we wish you would very kindly give us reference to these latter in order that we may check your account in a regular manner.##We apologize for thus troubling you but we are obliged to do so as we have failed to find among our files, any trace of the articles in question having been billed to you by us.
