Editor's Notes

We wrote you some time ago asking you to signify to us the bills for certain of the goods you returned us as we could not find any record of having billed to you certain items for which you asked credit. We have now however decided we will take the various goods you shipped back to us but there are some errors in your accounts which we will explain.##Circleville. You debit us with $15.80 for 20 extra assorted bottles & 20 rubber plates & attachments which we find were shipped to Circleville June 6th. Please therefore give us credit for this##Middletown Piqua We find you have not allowed us 39% discount on 144 Temporary [Fixtures]. We find that when we shipped temporary Fixtures to any of your Companys we always allowed 30% discount when the same were outside of a Central Station Contract. These same remarks apply to Branch Paragon Cut outs & main line Cut outs? we accordingly debit you with 30% on these various items & also debit you ($12) error & 1 Ceiling Block ([12/4]) short the total bill being $89.23.##Of the 144 Key Sockets for temporary fixtrures which you billed us there were ten (10) short. we accordingly enclose you will for $6.30##In as much as we took these goods back as an accomodation to you I enclose you freight bill paid by us amounting to $7.23 for their return to New York. You charge us $86.25 for [injector] not sent where as it was shipped on Dec 17th 1883 to Middletown. We therefore enclose you debit note for it.##We also enclose you debit note for $8.48 discount on Insulating joints sent to Piqua and [remarks] as above apply equally to this item.##We enclose you herewith statement showing balance against you of $[1520.90] we would remind you that we have treated you very liberally in giving you credit for goods returned so long after shipment especially as some of the goods were never shipped or billed by us. We must therefore ask you to reciprocate by sending us a check to balance the account by return mail without fail. We feel that it is unnecessary for us to enlarge on this point further as we know you will recognize our request as being perfectly reasonable and we shall therefore rely, confidently on receiving your remittance by Saturday or Monday at the latest.
