- Editor's Notes
- "Yours of yesterdays date has just come to hand as I am preparing to leave town for two weeks. There is not one up at my rooms but Billy Graves, and he is lonely and forelorn. The most sensible thing for you to do is go right up there and stop with him. I shall not be near the place before next Monday week at the earliest. I am going into Pennsylvania and from there to Cincinnatti. A letter to the St. Nicholas Hotel, Cincinnatti, will reach me if posted Friday or Saturday, or if posted Sunday or Monday, Leland House, Chicago, will catch me. The instrument Mr. Edison experimented on some time ago never proved a success. He is working now on something entirely new for the relief of deaf people and I have strong hopes of something good turning out shortly."
