- Editor's Notes
- "Referring to your favor of the 11th., you will most assuredly have a monopoloy of the manufacture of lamp black about which I wrote you on April 6th. It is impossible to state at present in what quantities we will require the lamp black as it entirely depends on the number of carbon buttons which the American Bell Telephone Co. may order from us. We have made arrangement yet as to what price we will get for the lamp black when we sell it but inasmuch as we have to make the buttons in the laboratory and simply deal in lamp black which we buy from you can be very much interested as to what price we obtain. We know from experience as to the cost of this class of work at Menlo Park taht the price named to you is a liberal one."
