- Editor's Notes
- Mr. Stewart of Chile is back here. He arrived last night. Of course he says that his difficulties arose mainly with Kendalls, that his touble with Prof. Zegers was owing to Kendall & Co., that they denounced him to Zegers as a Swindler &c &c. He says he is perfectly prepared to go ahead with the business if he can make a deal here, that our accounts will all be paid eventually if he can go ahead, that he has a great deal of money locked up in Plants which are not [re-------] owing to his having no lamps, that the lamps were ordered to be sent by the Lamp Co never was sent. I believe Stewart. I think you will if you talk to him. ###He has got in with W.R. Grace and Co. Valpariso house which is run by WR. Grace's brother. They are willing to go with him to back him up with money (receiving his goods and paying for them here) or else they will (Grace & Co) make a contract with the Edison Co.then make a partnership contract by which Stewart will get a half interest in their contrat with the Edison Co. Stewart believes in the South American business as much as ever & he wants to go ahead. Will you please at me have your ideas on the subject as that I can talk to Johnson.## Stewart wants to see your. Can I send him to Boston for a day. If not when will you be here. Answer promptly.
