Title
[LB021162P], Letter from Samuel Insull to Frederick W Foote, January 18th, 1886
Editor's Notes
I duly received your favor of the 14th. ##Nothing new has turned up in relation to European matters, except that I learnt indirectly yesterday that the Paris Companies are arranging to place a central station in St. Etienne, and this one will be followed by others. I shall probably have to call a meeting of the Directors to approve of the By-Laws of these local Companies in the course of a week or so. Mr. Chatard, who is one of the Administrators of the Paris Companies, wrote Mr. Batchelor that the movement at St. Etienne has produced an extremely good effect, and I think from this that we may hope to have things fixed up very shortly. I have to go out to East Newark today, and will see Upton and ask him whether he is inclined to purchase any European bonds and at what price.
