Title
[LB023357], Letter from Alfred Ord Tate to Samuel Insull, February 8th, 1887
Editor's Notes
Enclosed I beg to hand you list of notes discounted at Germania Bank on Mr. Edison's a/c for the Edison Machine Works together with list of checks drawn against these notes by the Mach Wks.## The Germania has charged a uniform rate of 6% discount. On out-of-town notes the exchange is included in amount of discount which accounts for latter amt. Exceeding 6%. If you want the the amt of exchange I will have to obtain the details tho Germania Bank. ## Accepting the figures as they stand, as I understand it Mr. Edison is to receive 1/6 more than amt. Charged by Germania viz: $568.53. This would make amount due T.A.E. for accomadation $94.76. ## In T.A.E's a/c the check {illegible} has credit of $179.37. Deducting amount due Mr. Edison it still leaves to credit of check $364.61 on Mr. Edison's a/c. I have the statement {illegible} so you can correct this if I am wrong.
