Title

[LB025057], Letter from John F Randolph to Samuel Insull, August 19th, 1887

Editor's Notes

Referring to your favor of the 18th inst I beg to state that your letter of the 12th inst has been attended to and my reasons for not attending to it sooner are that when I returned from my Vacation Mr. Edison had some work which he wishes me to attend to immediately which took at least four or five days, and your letter was ot received until Satuday and you are aware I could do nothing with it on that day as I had to go to 37th Street and pay your men off, and then I had to make up a statement of Liabilities which took quite some time and then I had to wait and see Mr Tate in regard to Noll Brothers account which was not on my Books as it belonged to Mr Edison's house at Orange. In your letter you ask if the Statement includes the liabilities on the Florida Books. ## You will notice on the bottom of the statement, a memoranda which I made "Saying this includes the liabilities of the Florida Books". ## The Bill Payable consists of a Note given Messrs Bergmann and Co for $1671.59 due Sept. 5th, 1887 and one given to Mr. B. P. Billand for $1429.12 due Oct 4th, 1887. I enclose you herewith a check for Mrs Adams account which please mail her direct. ## When I went on my Vacation Mr Tate promised to send her a check and since I returned I spoke to him about it and he said he would send her a check but when he came in the morning he had not attended to it. ## We owe Mr Batchelor $200. but have no money to pay him
